Skool Of Hard Knocks – The Bommer

Totally ruffneck jungle tune from Skool Of Hard Knocks – the guy best know the wicked Kan Ya Feel It. Nice long intro into the Cutty Ranks – The Bomber sample and then in with the heavyweight bassline. Not such a well known track but one that kills it in any jungle set.

M83 – Skin Of The Night

I’ve been loving M83’s album, Saturdays = Youth, and have had it on a lot for the past few months. Some of it reminds me a bit of 90s bands like My Bloody Valentine but with a bit of a mix of electronic stuff in there too. I love the twin melodies in this track and the sparse percussion. I’d really recommend checking the whole thing out, top stuff from start to finish

The best pizza in town

As a little treat for quitting the day job and starting up as a full time freelancer I decided to treat myself to lunch from Franco Manca, my favourite pizza place in town which also happens to be a couple of minutes’ walk from my flat.

A special treat was in store – pancetta, radiccio, pine nuts and onions on the incredible home made sour dough base…check this out

The only crap thing is that the restaurant is only open during the Brixton market operating hours which means they close at 5pm every day and aren’t open Sunday…BOOOOOOO 🙁

The Big Pink – Velvet

Reminiscent of some good old fashioned 80s/90s indie and signed to 4AD this has been out for a little while now. There’s an album which posting this tune has reminded me that I really need to listen to…
