Girl Unit – IRL (DVA’s Hi Emotions Mix)

Aside from presenting the finest breakfast show known to man DVA AKA Scratcha is killing it at the moment with his production. A few tunes like Sci Fi & the one that sounds a bit like his previous Hyperdub release Natty with a vocal over the top of it are high on my wants list. Hopefully they’ll see a release soon.

Anyway, here’s his remix of Girl Unit’s IRL that recently came out on Night Slugs. Serious stuff

KMA Productions – Cape Fear

Classic piece of UK garage here. Listening to this reminds me that I need to dig out all my garage 12s from storage and give ’em a spin again. Of course sampling from the film with the same name and KMA bringing a lovely deep bassline on this one. This tends to go for silly money on vinyl but I’m pretty sure there were represses of the old KMA tunes that you can pick up pretty easily for those who weren’t there first time around

Total Recall: The Musical

The Fives feat. Vanya Taylor – It’s What You Do

Caution: if you’re not a fan of pretty cheesy vocal led UK Funky then this one might not be for you. I’ve heard this a lot of times on Marcus Nasty‘s show on Rinse, which is an instant download every week.

Jaheim – Put That Woman First

Jaheim is the man. I love this kinda R&B. Big sample that’s been used many a time – William Bell – I Forgot To Be Your Lover – in fact this tune just completely rips it along with the guitar line. Anyway, haven’t been posting enough R&B recently, so check it
