Critical Podcast #10: Bladerunner

I just grabbed this today and it’s wicked. Bladerunner seems to be one of a few guys who are churning out d&b with a heavy influence from the mid-90s jungle & Bristol style jump up sounds. I am/was a huge fan of that kinda thing and some of the tunes I’ve heard recently have been pretty good. The forthcoming “Back to the Jungle” on Critical is a banger. Listen to that here…

Hilarious vid from Robert Popper and Peter Serafinowicz. This absolutely killed me…

Ridiculous death metal band logos

I just stumbled across this wicked blog post while searching for death metal band logos on Google (don’t ask). Starting with some fairly legible and classic logos the post descends into the madness…

Good to ridiculous – a load of funny death metal band logos

As an aside, I recently bought this book, which is kinda cool, but a little bit niche in its interest. A collection of hundreds of death metal logos all designed by one guy over the last couple of decades (I think). A cool book if you’re into that kinda thing…

Invisible Man – Skyliner (Remix)

Absolutely beautiful track by a true old skool legend, The Invisible Man. The original, released back in ’93 on Timeless was a killer tune but with the ’94 refix Mr Mew took the track on a more chilled vibe. The pads, vocals and piano all together from around 2:00 onwards is simply divine and when it all drops out at 4:05 it’s pure goose bumps!
