How to find your tent at night?

The idea of sticking something up on your tent hoping to find it in the night, to me, sounds like an idiot’s game. I’ve been to many festivals in my time and have not lost one in the darkness yet (fingers crossed). Most I’ve been to have selections of morons with pirate flags or “Essex boy’s on toor” or something written on them.
Not for me.
