Tom Vek - Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes

Not quite sure where I learned about this guy from but I picked up his debut (and so far only) album, We Have Sound, a while back. It’s pretty damn good and has a load of crackin tunes on it, this being one of the stand out tunes. Also check the wicked CC (You Set The Fire In Me) which was the bigger track/single from it.

Allegedly there’s a new album on the way so looking forward to that one

Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Better

Phoenix are a bunch of trendy French types who are pals with Daft Punk or something. I bet they’re well cooler than me (not hard) and I love this little cheesy uplifting ditty…

Found it hard to get a version to embed on here so if this breaks go and search YouTube for the track

Clor - Love + Pain

Now defunct Clor called it a day after their debut album came out. Bit of a shame, really, as I thought it was pretty good! Fun, poppy stuff here with the right mix of guitars and electronic elements coupled with some nice melodies to keep the whole bouncing along rather nicely. Pretty sure they’re from Brixton as well, always nice to know that they’re local!

Watch it below but there’s a higher quality version on YouTube that EMI won’t let me embed.

Yo La Tengo - Autumn Sweater

A lovely piece of 90s alternative rock here from Yo La Tengo, a band whose extensive back catalogue I’ve always meant to investigate further.

Perhaps it’s time to do just that…

Alessi’s Ark - Over The Hill

Nice bit of folky, dreamy indie pop here from an English band who seem to be getting a fair bit of attention recently. Meant to go and catch her (them?) at Glastonbury but the usual happened and I made it absolutely nowhere near…
