Nice bit of jazzy garage from the Smokin Beats guys who had a huge hit with Dreams but also released some excellent stuff in the 90s. I didn’t know until recently that these are the same blokes who made the old N.R.G. tunes. You learn something new every day, don’t you?
Urban Myths was a wicked little label that put out four top UK garage releases back in the late 90s. I guess they’re fairly hard to come by now and a couple of them will set you back a few quid but they’re well worth grabbing if you see them around. The man behind the moniker was Mike Millrain who was part of the Nice ‘N’ Ripe crew and released lots of wicked tracks under a huge array of names. Badman
Yeah, yeah, I know. Another Level are shite. Dane Bowers getting arrest in Croydon reminded me of them and this nice little remix that MJ Cole did for pretty much every chart single back in 1999. Not differing much from that standard MJ Cole remix formula that must have netted him a bucketload of cash at the time this somehow made a very average tune pretty decent. Some may disagree, of course.
ps Bomb Diggy was the biz, if only for Dane’s horrendous cowboy rapist outfit.
Massive garage tune from Zed Bias back in ’99 released on the Dreem Team’s DJs For Life label. Lovely mellow vibes in the intro but with that wicked deep bassline. I remember this one getting played loads back in the day…
