A nice Jason Kaye mix has me in a garage mood this Friday. Here’s a track from my favourite garage label, Confetti. Anthill Mob were best known for tracks like Burning and Set You Free but there were loads of other classics that they released. Tunes by these guys seem to be some of the only garage 12s that are actually worth any money, I have one that sells for well over £50 and it’s not even very good!
I absolutely love this tune and remember picking it up when it came out back in the late 90s. I’m happy to report that it re-appeared when I grabbed a load of my garage tunes from storage the other day looking as fresh as the day I bought it. Classic four to the floor garage in Booker’s trademark style, this one always gets butts moving when it’s played. Wicked
Nice bit of jazzy garage from the Smokin Beats guys who had a huge hit with Dreams but also released some excellent stuff in the 90s. I didn’t know until recently that these are the same blokes who made the old N.R.G. tunes. You learn something new every day, don’t you?
