Young Gunz – No Better Love

YoungBloodZ – Damn

I went through a period of buying loads of “crunk” (stupid name) hip hop a few years back, mainly due to me thinking that Lil Jon was pretty funny. I started out hating it but then grew to love the simple beats and rubbish lyrics. It’s wicked party music that doesn’t take itself too serious. Well, I hope not anyway.

This was produced by Lil Jon and was a pretty big tune back in 2002 when it came out. The drop at 0:45 always used to smash it for me. I feel the need for a lot more hip hop on here in the near future and reminds me I should really dig out my vinyl at some point.

Roots Manuva – Dreamy Days

UK Hip Hop’s biggest name for a long time. Most people know his incredible tune Witness that was absolutely huge. This is one that doesn’t get quite as many plays.

Kelis – Millionaire

I’ve always loved this tune. From the up tempo beats (I remember D&B DJs dropping this on pirate stations when it first came out) to the catchy vocal hooks it’s a perfect tune to listen to while the sun’s shining bright outside. Cute video as well

Lewis Parker – Rise

UK Hip Hop from some time way back in the 90s. Some advert on TV has the same piano line in it which reminded me of this. Lovely little tune…
