KMA Productions – Cape Fear

Classic piece of UK garage here. Listening to this reminds me that I need to dig out all my garage 12s from storage and give ’em a spin again. Of course sampling from the film with the same name and KMA bringing a lovely deep bassline on this one. This tends to go for silly money on vinyl but I’m pretty sure there were represses of the old KMA tunes that you can pick up pretty easily for those who weren’t there first time around

C.R.S.T – Roulette

C.R.S.T is four Welsh lads who are churning out impressive amounts of wicked new skool UK Garage/House/Whatever. Most of their stuff is still unsigned which is criminal. Head over to their Soundcloud page using the link below to check out loads of tunes as well as a few mixes from the guys…

Myron – We Can Get Down (Groove Chronicles Remix)

One of my favourite UK Garage tunes here, an absolutely lovely remix of Myron’s R&B tune by Groove Chronicles (Noodles & El-B). There’s actually not much to it and it doesn’t even stray too far from the original but I have lots of wicked memories of this being played at Garage dos in the late 90s.

I’ll put some more garage up here at some point, I haven’t really done much of that yet. I’m sure Groove Chronicles will be appearing again, they made too many good tunes back then

Looks like you can also pick up a lot of the GC back catalogue on mp3, including the Myron remix, for nice & cheap. Get on it

De Ryus – Grass Ain’t Greener (MJ Cole Remix)

De Ryus, from what I can remember where a Swedish or Danish boy band (why is there nothing on Wikipedia about them?). The original track was fairly uninspiring when I heard it but MJ Cole’s remix was a stunner. Back in 1999 he could really do no wrong and there was a new classic out from him every week, it seemed. Anyway, this is a lesser known one, although still a bit tune. Enjoy…

Edit: turns out that I was totally wrong. De Ryus is a British singer/songwriter. I have no idea why I thought it was a boy band. It’s possible I was thinking of BBMak who got the Artful Dodger remix treatment at around the same time, but they’re English!

Note: this always makes me giggle as it sounds like it’s saying “ah, ah boobies”.

Yeah, yeah, I’ll grow up one day
