I’ve picked up a few tunes from Manchester’s XXXY recently. His Blue Flashing Lights EP released as a split with Ike Release is awesome laid back spacey funky/garage. There are a load of unreleased bits on his Soundcloud page, this being one of my favs
It looks like Clipz has totally stopped making D&B now and is concentrating on his Redlight project. Good news, I say. He knocking out some serious tunes at the moment and this new(ish) one is no different. There’s a vocal mix featuring Miss Dynamite but I prefer the original instrumental track. Hopefully this one will be about to buy soon!
An 80s classic from everyone’s favourite Doobie Brother, Michael McDonald. His biggest tune was probably I Keep Forgetting which many will know as the sample from Warren G’s Regulate. This is the one, though. TRUST!
Rather overshadowed by some of the other tracks on the same EP I love this little number from Manix on Enforcers 3. Leaning towards the techno end of hardcore but keeping those super distinctive Reinforced pad sounds you can tell instantly this is the work of the Dollis Hill lads. Of course the big tune on this release was Rollin’ Like Scottie which is a dancefloor killer but I like to break out this one every once in a while
Absolutely massive jungle tune that many may recognise but not know the name of. From 1994, the golden era of jungle, and released on the wicked Metamorphosis label that also brought us the huge Dub War by Dance Conspiracy a couple of years earlier. I love the Jefree – Mr Fix It sample in there that pops up half way through. Such a tune <3
