Intense, who have written more incredible tunes than you can shake a stick at, here with a wicked ’93 darkside hardcore/jungle track on Rugged Vinyl. Pretty well known track but a real fav of mine. The string section around 3 minutes is just amazing…

UK folks (only?) might recognise this from the adverts for Grand Theft Auto 537, or whetever number they’re up to now. Classic 80s rock from the Crüe, funky little slow bit in the middle and all. Listen for the really crap keyboards(?) that come in on the fade out. Odd.

I’m a sucker for sweets (or candy, depending where you’re from) so anything new at the local shop will always get a sample. How could I turn something down threatening to be made from bona fide toxic waste and, I later discovered, created by Professor Sauernoggin?
These reminded me of Wham bars before they took out all the things that could kill you (boo to the 90s). Whoever knew nulcear waste tastes of apples?

Everyone knows the biggie – Hangin’ On A String (Contemplating) but there are quite a few people out there who have never heard much else by Loose Ends
What a tune. It’s been sampled in some hip hop tunes, I’m sure, but also a few random jungle tunes. None worth listing, though, just enjoy the tune

I love old crappy music videos. In fact, crappy’s not the word. These vids are great just, at times, a little misguided, at others baffling and often reveal things about the artists that I’m surprised people didn’t pick up on when they first came out.
First up in what I hope will be a regular series of posts if I can find the time to do them is a little dissection of some of my favs
Ratt – Round & Round
There’s not much I can say about this one, it’s amazing. An absolutely top tune with a video to match. Don’t really know what’s going on but it invovles a load of people dressed up having some dinner and Ratt looking totally awesome in a loft.
Finest moments
You should probably watch this one in high quality on YouTube, it’s worth it
Ratt – Lay It Down
Another Ratt video, another party. Awesome song and a little beyond generic vid. I’m pretty sure that this tune came out on a wicked rat shaped 7″ picture disc which, sadly, I have yet to win on eBay.
Finest moments
Ratt – Back For More
Not as great a tune but the vid makes up for it. Big stuff
